Thermostatic mixing valves — or TMVs — blend hot and cold water in a controlled way to make sure it is a safe and steady temperature as it leaves a shower or tap. These simple, yet essential water mixing valves not only prevent scalds, but also play an important role in keeping potentially fatal legionella bacteria at bay.
